they should be just fine.
Shhhhh (I used the old ones)
Here's the scoop.
I had NO idea the BMW lock nuts for the Thrust Arm Bushing bolt were impossible to buy. None in town and I need some for the weekend repair.
Sooo....
I found M14x1.5 NYLOCK Grade 8 nuts (HEAVY DUTY), locally. Turns out the 1.5 pitch is a real oddball.
Will these suffice?
Since the nuts are NOT in a high heat location they SHOULD be fine.
With 94 lbs. of torque on them, it should take the force of the earth's rotation to break them loose anyway.
Thanks in advance for any input,
Bill

Like I said before....with THAT much torque on them, it'd take a horrendous force to snap them/break them loose anyway.Originally Posted by 632 Regal

I ordered the new Thrust Arms with the 750i bushings from BMA.Originally Posted by 632 Regal
Unreal price. They're SUPPOSED to be here on Friday (tomorrow).
Long weekend for me so it's Beemer repair time!
My 525 has the signature "ga-gunk" sound when the right front tire impacts anything and both ball-joint boots are gone on the Thrust Arms.
That ought to tighten up that front end a bit.
Besides, the toe is WAY out on the car...due to the ball joint slop allowing the wheels to "steer" toward the rear?
We'll see!
