BMW installs a full wire harness in most models, so options can be added quickly.

...childseat belt anchor points. Left side, right side and centre positions. They are mandatory on Australian models. The 2pin plug could be for electric sunblind option?Originally Posted by bullyd

I tend to agree with the power for the rear blind. I added original fog lights to my old E12 and everything was there ready to go. It was just a matter of joining it all up.
It's doubtful that its for the sunblind; that harness routes from a five pin harness by the Ebox and, in theory, goes to a control module mounted next to the blind on the underside of the parcel shelf.
It's probably for a third brake light. It wasn't necessary in Europe, IIRC, but required in the US. One of the procedures for legalizing a gray market car is to add a 3rd brake light.
best, whit
3 holes for the cd changer bracket?

is the 3rd brake light monted to the rear shelf? does anyone have a close up pic of thers?
I used mine to fasten my parcel shelf down (3 massive washers and 3 high-tensile allen-key bolts)... It used to rattle like a BITCH from the 2000W of subs in the trunk!!
Gone but NEVER forgotten. :'(
And then...
