    Default fuel pump testing

With the 12 volt fuel pump removed from the car, what's the best way to test it?

    Hotwired to 12V battery?

How to adjust to correct amperage?

Pls. advise, and forbear my electrical ignorance.

Default Just plug in 12 Vdc (battery), but consider I had ...

once one pump that worked intermittently when energized outside the tank. You should try to cycle it on-off several times. No long runs as pump is refrigerated by fuel flow. Also, to have it running not necessarily means it is pumping right.

Best way to check it, is installed and tested by Bentleys suggestions.
