Default OT: E34 trade for Alfa GTV Spyder ?.

A rare blue one is available for sale locally, tempting....

Only found a couple of these in CarDomain. Same shape, hard-top as this one:

What do you guys reckon ?. Sell my E34 sedan for the Alfa ?. Only thing hold me back is that the Alfa is a front-wheel drive car!. All other vital stats looks good 200HP turbo-charged V6 engine and killer Pininfarina looks, but hideous rims.....

My advice is to keep your E34.
I have owned and worked on both Alfa's and Fiats.... they are NOT engineered to last anything like an E34!

I once owned a nice Spider 1300 GT Junior. Nice driving, nice engine, but a lot of corrosion on that car. Well it was built around 1970 and at the time I owned it it was about 6 years old only.

So I guess I am still waiting for the 968 or the 89 E30M3....

BTW, the 916SC Alfa has chassis galvanized like the E39 and its hood is KMC plastic I believe. That V6 engine is almost the same as the JTS. Darn it, its STILL front wheel drive....

I had a red 67 duetto in college, but today, I think this would be the alfa I would want

Do you not have sufficient problems in your life now? Find a nice older Alfa for a weekend ride, keep the BMW.....

Im seriously into my Alfa`s..Have been for 25 odd years..
I had the choice of my 2001 156 with 3.8l 24v coversion(240 wheel hp)or my 535 for my holiday to KZN coast-round trip of 1600 odd km..
My 535 is running fantastically and Im enjoying my holiday..No problems at all.

    The Alfa??When I want to beat up a c55 AMG I drive that..(or an e46 M3..)
Have to agree with John in CT.(Cape Town???)

Get a Fiat Coupe Turbo instead. More reliable, rarer, and 25% more powerful.

And Chris Bangle designed it! (take that FWIW).

True, that generation GTV looks awesome, but it isn't. Still, I'd be tempted, I admit. But only if you have another car as backup
