Instrument cluster on my 1992. 520i 24v looks like this (attachment).
Anybody has a tech drawing with explanations of all functions on it?
On the bottom right side there are function lights:
brake pad sensor light, parking brake light, motor oil light, ABS light, air bag light, and seat belt light (not working as well as the function).
On the bottom left side there are only: drive lights, fog lights and battery light that are lit, others not working or there is no other lights.
Thank U for answers (if there's any).

Also, the clusters were designed to be 'universal'. i.e. they'd include provisions for all options and localizations. (I'm not positive that this is strictly true, there are probably language variations in markings, so they're not actually universal) But anyway, I know that the cluster in my E34 had four or five unpopulated lighted annunciators. Only your owner's manual will tell you for sure what's supposed to light up and what it all means.
That is the same as mine.

Is it right to say the stomp test will not work on a cluster like this? I tried but got nothing. I think there is nowhere the codes could be displayed

Is that a custom emblem on your steering wheel? I like how ti looks but if it is that is very dangerous. The airbag could blow it through your face.

As I wrote above mine is the same, but there is no emblem at the center. The emblem is engraved in the plastic, not separate as in Baksa's wheel.Originally Posted by Alexlind123

LOL
In the news: Man dies from what seams to be an emblem injury in his head.
The exit wound 2 inches wide. Doctors say they never saw anything quite like it before...
I have the same emblem OEM on my steering wheel in the 750 E32, that was standard in version w/o airbag.
T marat: you do not have stomp test, although there is an empty space for the bulb in the cluster. Stomp test only on US spec models.
My Australian car does the stomp test
Maybe it is a naturalised Australian, not native?Originally Posted by myles
