i replaced the tranny filter/gaskets for my e34....
but i refilled fluid only from the filler hole and i did not pre-fill the small 2nd tranny can with fluid?
is this wrong?
also, i did not have a lot of fluid at hand and maybe replaced 2.5 / 3 quarts....when i drove it it started to slip from stop, but the shifting was smooth....got the TRANS PROGRAM. I took it to a shop and got it filled until it was topped off....
now, 1 month later, i've been getting a TRANS PROGRAM more and more....
was the reason for this due to myself not filling the 2nd tranny pan w/ fluid before i installed it?
please let me know.....

the front pan fills on it's own, you may check the level to see if they did it right at the shop, get the tranny warm about a 5 mile drive should do it then with it idling (i see no difference with it in park or neutral) pop the fill plug, if theres no fluid running out the hole add some till it is, you will want the car varly level for checking the fluid level so if a lift or pit is not avalable ramps and or jackstands will be needed
all america wants is cold beer warm cat and a place to take a poop with a door on it
