    Default de-carbonizing . . .

Any downside to blowing all that crap thru the cats? Fortunately with my Hartge setup, I can replace the cats with straight thru-pipes in about 20 minutes.

I remember the old salt mechanics of the 50's & 60's they used squirt can to run water thru the throat of the carburetor & it would sound like the engine had marbles in it while the water flashed to steam and blasted the carbon off the tops of the pistons & combustion chamber. The added benefit of drawing the GM stuff thru the intake vacuum & letting is sit overnite, is it helps get more carbon deposits off of the backside of the intake valves.

I would also like to know how "safe" and effective this is. Someone commented once that you have to be careful what and how much of this kind of stuff you are using because you can wash the oil off the cylinder walls while the car is running.
