Default trunk to pickup conversion within minutes

Found some old documents for the release of the E32. These show that the trunk lid can be removed within a minute and also installed in the same time without re-alignment.
Also the doors do not have to be re-aligned when taking off only the 6 mm hinge bolts.
Anybody can try if this works also on the E34 ?

EDIT: Sorry, just came to my mind that the E34 trunk lid is different and also has a part of the tail lights in it. So it will not work.
But maybe it helps you when you have to remove the trunk lid to change it.

never knew that about the trunk, the doors come off most bmws with a pair of 10mm headed bolts with no alignment issues, the check strap can sometimes need a hammer and punch and depending on the model a 7mm or 8mm socket or screwdriver to deal with the wiring plug
all america wants is cold beer warm cat and a place to take a poop with a door on it

    Default Ha...

I wonder why Chas. and MaryKay would ever need to remove their own trunklid, doors, or bumpers?

Default very nice idea, not the doors

but to remove the trunk lid and to transport a large furniture or something, that is a big advantage. I already did it and my wife was really surprised, as she sometime claims she wants a pick-up or a touring, because she cannot transport bulky stuff
