Default Alpina m30 air intake setup

I am looking for information on Alpina air intake for their version of twin turbo m30 engine. The manifold draws air from driver's side - I'd like to know how the throttle body is set up. This setup is more efficient - it keeps air intake cooler since it is farther from the exhaust. Does someone know a web resource that has any relevant information? Perhaps someone can forward relevant images?

Perhaps some owner of 5/325 with m20 would like to help me by making a few pictures of the intake at the throttle body at various angles???

Well, in theory, the air is still picked up by an airbox mounted in the same place as the stock 535's (right hand side). On the biturbo, air happens to exit on the left side of the intercooler, hence they avoid using an unsightly U joint by cutting a hole in the other side of the intake manifold.

I couldn't tell you why the intake runs the way it does from the factory on the more uh...plebian 535s.

It's not that much work. I'm planning on having our machine shop replicate the Alpina modifications on one of my spares. Cover the original opening, cut another hole, punch in four studs, modify the throttle/cruise cables as necessary if the car doesn't have EML.

    best, whit

Marvelous pictures and very appreciated indeed! I was really thinking along the lines of installation of m20 - direct attachment of the throttle body to the intake on opposite side.

The pictures show that one virtually does not have bother with setup of accelerator cord - thats good - but one has to bother now with creation of the "c" shaped extention between the throttle body and the plenum. Nevertheless - thank you.

    The link is good.

Can someone provide links/pictures/info on m20 throttle body?
I know of realoem.com and don't care for that...
