Which unit controls Recirc flap?

Hi All,

Which unit controls Recirculation flap? Is it IHKR control unit (One behind the switches) or AC control unit (One near microfilter)? And which one is the recirculation flap any diagrams / pictures?

Background: I am trying to fix a AC problem in my car which according to my local is a AC contol unit failure.

the one near the microfilter is the IHKR control unit, and that is the one that controls the flaps and recirculation motors, as well as the AC and rear defog.

HOWEVER, the one behind the dash is the IHKR.. which also controls the flaps etc...

you only have one, depending on year and model.

1989-1990 525 and 535: behind the dash
all others, behind microfilter.
On 8-cylinder models its called the IHKA Control unit.
