Default Swapping the std fan for electrical fan

Has anyone here already thought about swapping the original visco-coupled fan for electrical fan(s) controled by a thermo switch??

If so, how much of an improvement is it in terms of performance? Any dyno graph to see the bhp gain?
Any pics of such a swap to see which electrical fan or fans has been used?

    Sleeper manufacturer:
    - BMW '91 E34: with a euro M3 3L engine!
    - Nissan Sunny GTI-R. Ultimate toy: 532bhp for 1,150kg.

Bruno's got one on his site.

I did it and was not pleased at all. Something went wrong with the thermo switch and it overheated. You know that the viscous fan is on and working.

The hp gain is very very very very minimal. I ran without a fan for the summer during long distance cruising to the Jersey shore, stopping at toll booths the temp would rise... the car felt the same as it did before it had the fan... not worth the risk.
