dash light confirmation

Just a quick confirmation please. The dot matrix gear selection display on the dash has a light behind it and they are not LEDs? I'm just clarifying what I think I've read in the search section. Thanks guys, hope you're all well.

Can anyone explain what might cause all of these bulbs to go out at the same time? Perhaps a diagram of the solder joints that control these lights.

You didn't mention if the bulbs were actually burned out or if they just won't light. If the bulbs aren't burned out check and clean the pin connectors where the cluster splits. I've had all sorts of goofy cluster problems that could be corrected by pushing on the face of the cluster only to reappear later.
A deteriorated solder joint will often appear dull,usually just touching the hot iron to it rebond it.
