I Am Getting A Trans Program Error In My 1990 525i But The Funny Thing Is That It Is Manual Not Automatic. I Got A Cluster From Ebay And The Seller Told Me They Are All The Same. I Want To Know How To Get Rid Of The Problem.

could be a bad battery. check the voltage when the car is off and when its running.

So you replaced the instrument cluster, and a Trans Program message that didin't appear before suddenly appeared? Did you move the coding plug from your old cluster to the new cluster?

The coding plug is an excellent thing to verify!

I can confirm that MY car screwed up 3 separate clusters such that they showed TRANS PROG when put in other cars with appropriately changed coding plugs. I had to pay for 2 of them So it is possible that the cluster is frogged if the coding plug was in fact changed.
