    Default A/C problems

When the A/C is on, there appears to be a loud rattling sound coming from the radiator/fan portion of the engine. I also get a burning smell when I floor it if the A/C is on.

    Any ideas?

The sound is most likely be coming from the A/C clutch bearings, which is starting to seize up, hence dragging the A/C belt, causing the burning smell.

If the aux fan is bad or the system is overcharged it will also cause the belt to slip causing a burning smell.

While driving today with the temp set to cold (not A/C), it gave also off a burning smell for a few minutes.

What kind of burning smell? does it smell like burning wood or leaves with a sharp tang to it? overheated metal? rubber? sweet smell?

That is probably coolant burning off the exhaust.

Check it over for coolant leaks.
