it is normal for them to bust apart. I just replaced mine last week. You can get a new one at the stealership.
The black plastic track that slides along with my automatic shifter is know looking like a bent up straw. I was just wondering if this is a usual occurance. Where in the hell would I find another? Just wait until someone is parting out and be a vulture?
Good to know. Thanks. How much did it set you back?Originally Posted by SchnellE34

But factor in shippings, and the stealer is probably cheaper.

Thanks, I may actually get it from the site. I hate the dealership here. Nothing but a bunch of pretentious priks. They dont care to help unless you've got a few grand to drop while you're there. They dont even notice me walking in the door with their noses pointed so high in the air.Originally Posted by Gearhead
I made one from a black plastic notebook cover. Looked factory & matched the plastic outer surround almost exactly & lasted fine the whole time I had the automatic in it. The original accordion type will only mess up again. I ditched the slushbox & am running a stick now.

92 735i 5-spd, turbo project finally underway!
I just replaced my one last Saturday. Lastet only 6 months. Found that the Misses (?) or someone spilled some coffee into it and it stuck.
Next time I will do it the same way as Gale did it.
pick one up off of Ebay for $9.00.
They seem to break at the top end, so when you shift down to low you'll see the break.
Found a cluster of dust bunnies and crap under the cover.
Vee ave vays of dealing vid your kind...........
Ultra, ultra sweet. That's all I can say. Easy and practical. I have a bunch of those shitty little notebooks lying around here too so this is just perfect. Thanks a milOriginally Posted by gale
