    Default e34 auto tranny life

I have a e30 325 and am considering a e34 for my wife. The only problem is that she will only drive auto (I know, I should divorce her!) How long does the typical e34 auto tranny last? Any suggestions for checking out the tranny other than just trying to feel it slipping?

210k miles on mine and still rockin'. But, like most things, it probably all depends on care and maintenance. Good luck.

If you buy a car with an auto tranny and the tranny dies, it can be replaced with a used unit for under $500. No biggie.

I have an auto tranny for sale if you want one. 230,000km on it and still running like butter
