    Default Head bolts M30 engine

When replacing the head on an M30 engine, how important is it to have NEW head bolts? The old ones look OK, and as long as the holes are clean and free of oil, is it OK to re-use the old bolts?

And, is Loctite suitable for use on the threads, or not?

new bolts always, the old ones stretch to get the correct clamping forces and can snap when re-used. No loctite on these. Make sure the bolt holes are clean and dry.

Default Sorry Jeff, the m30 bolts are reuseable unlike the m50 and

m60 which are torque to yield. For the m30 all you have to do is clean them up , inspect them and lightly oil the threads and the head of the bolt according to the service manual.
