    Default Power Steering Very Heavy

Has anyone experienced steering being heavy? There are no noises from the engine bay which are unusual. Could this be related to my brake issue where the pedal is hard?

    Cheers.

    My pedal is...normal.

Edit: i might need to do another final bleed after replacing the brake master cylinder.

Could be. Check your power steering fluid.

bmw540 - please fill out your profile so we know what car you have.

Is this car new to you? It may just be the naturally harder steering of an E34... I wondered if something was wrong as well when I first got my car, I topped off the power steering fluid, but over time just accepted that this is just a natural part of a sportier car.

I just got it last week. There are afew issue like the brakes, now the power steering and the thrust arms that need attention but besides that it is in near perfect condition. My plan is to make the car very reliable and tighten the backend ,maybe wheels and maybe 6speed conversion. I will update my profile.

I noticed the same thing with my E39 540. I drove 3 others before but my power steering was excessively heavy.

The problem was that the power steering fluid was dirty and needed to be flushed. Actually my E39 used ATF for the power steering. Fixed my stiff brake pedal too in the morning.
