My A/C belt has developed an intermittent squealing noise. Upon inspection of the belt, it was discovered to be very loose indeed. I looked in the bentley and found no instructions about tightening the belt.
In this picture, you can see several things that concern me. First of all, the adjustment is very close to its tightest point and there is probably not room to tighten the belt considering how loose it is. Another thing that concerns me is the angle of the lower bracket (with the arrows). The power steering bracket sits at an angle parallel to the ground whereas the A/C bracket seems to be "drooping" a bit.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

new belt and readjust? check all the bracketry for loose/missing bolts, the adjustment bolt is not stock on yours.

that's how they are supposed to look, if the teeth are to far gone to get it to adjust tight enough a big screwdriver/prybar does the trick nicely
