    Default Which Muffler?

    I am about to replace the rear muffler on my 89 525i manual. searching for a stock type replacement i have found units made by ANSA and BOSAL any info/feedback on these two . which seems better,etc. thanks in advance for any help.

    Bosal now claim on their site (last time I looked) that all their mufflers are Stainless steel. If that is the case with their e34 unit, get it. Otherwise I wouldn't worry too much and would stick with the aluminized ANSA... (do let us know if the Bosal is SS).

    just sent bosal an e-mail asking about "if s.s. or aluminized" will let you know what they answer.

    Cool, it would be good to know. The Bosal unit is big, black and has very nice ****.

    got reply today . bosal says that thier replacement for the rear muffler/section of my exhaust is made of aluminized steel with a 2 year warranty against defects and corrosion

    How much is it? Had mine done about a year ago now and it cost £130.

    i have found it at several different sites for as low as 292.00 to around 350.00 i did a web search for "bmw replacement muffler" and looked around . this price does not include the coupling sleeves or install.

    apparently the muffler for the 530 sounds really cool on the 525 (as per old post)
