CCM resoldering helps
http://www.e34-welt.de/tips_tricks/R...0e34%20e32.pdf
A little help needed. My original dash cluster took a crap. I tried replacing all the caps, and still didn't work. I proceded to get a cluster from a 1990 525i automatic at the junker. Ever since i did this I have ESD regelt, and brake light circuit. All lights work fine, and replaced brake switch. All bulbs are from the dealer along with the switch. All of the gauges work great also. I did notice that that the code plug was different. Mine in the harness. The new cluster code plug is on the cluster. Could this be the problem? Or would it be the lkm? This is really annoying, and I'm tired of people asking why that keeps popping up.
Thanks In advance.....Felix

Thanks Shogun. I'll give this a try. Hope it works.
What does 'ESD regelt' mean?
If I'm not mistaken it means Electronic slip differential. Which in my case, I do not have.
I think no E34 has ESD (electronic!), but the warning comes.
Elektronisches Sperr Differential
= electronic slip differential
Mostly affected are the CCM from Loewe (p/n: 65.31-2 942 287)
I havent fixed it yet, but I will try sunday. I just got back from New Jersey getting new door panels. I will give you guys an update to see if this worked or not. Thanks ............Felix
Ok, a little update. Did not work. I seem to have a different setup. My LKM is it own little brain. Has boards in it. They are about 6"x 4". I know its the LKM because it says LKM on it. I have no mustard yellow relay. WTF? Does anybody have a good working cluster out of a 89 535i auto?

I said CCM should be resoldered, not the LKM.
Check Control Module, it sits just next to the LKM and CCM is written on it.
