    Default temperature flashing on display

I noticed that lately as the temperature is getting lower around the midwest of USA, as I pull my car out of the driveway and take it on the road in the first few minutes, the car flashes the temp=38 degrees F on the small display next to the speedometer. It beeps and then goes away. Never did this during the summer for any temp.
Anyone else experience this? Does it do this below some certain temp??
It'd be nice if it did this all of the time.
Let me know if similar experiences.

It does that to warn you of 'black ice'

    That's all

Noticed mine has been doing this as well. Figured it was something like that.

Another question.. Mine seems to ding at me and display the time at 1 minute to the hour. 11:59 12:59.. ect..

    Anyone know why?

You can switch that off on the BC. On the right hand side of the display of the OBC there is probably this alarm sign on. See owners manual. That is a kind of memo for the driver if he for example wants to listen the hourly news.

    Shogun beat me......

That's normal too. It gives you a heads up reminder for top of the hour stuff like news, appointments, etc.

You can get rid of it by 1: Reading through your owners manual or 2: Go to time page on the OBC, then press the reset button once. The icon in the corner of the screen will go away.

There are some handy function on the OBC. Check them out!

Owners Manual....Owners Manual....Owners Manual...if only, if only, if only Ditto Luftpost's comments...if you didn't know these 2 features...it's time to pull out the owners manual and give yourself a refresher course...I bet you will find out something else you didn't know...or forgot.

    (ice warning)

(hour memo symbol) if the little icon to the far right next to the time is illuminated...then the OBC will give 3 "pips" 15 seconds before the top of the hour:
