Radio Shutting Off

i just put a new pannasonic head unit in my 95 525i and whenever i go above 75, it shuts off? is this a bmw thing and is there a way around this? or was it just put in wrong?

well, something is wrong, thats not a "feature"

It's definitely not a BMW thing. I'd suspect mis-wiring, or a flaky fuse.

what would be wrong with the wiring since it turns off at exactly 75 mph and turns on when i go below say 65. did i do something wrong with hooking up the amp to the harness?

In my 7 years of installing, I've never seen a radio turn on and off according to a specific speed. Double check your wiring, esp your ground. www.bmwe34.net has a nice diy on deck install.
