As for your question on what coloured blinkers, you could go smoked clears (look like they're half-smoked, not like they are painted black). You could get smoked clears on the back, with the blinker part of the tail light assembly smoked and the rest just normal red, and have a 540i rear trunk decoration or M5 trunk decoration.
If you're planning on shadowlining your chrome door surrounds, then I would go all black for blinkers/tail lights.
