Ok, so I replaced my plugs, fuel filter and O2 sensor after discovering a 1222 error code. Things seemed to be OK for a couple of days but recently I got the error again. It seems like the CEL light flashes briefly during the first 6min or so of operation. From what I've read here, it is a good possibility that this is being caused by a vacuume leak. Could this possibly be happening when the car is not fully warm because there is a crack or something that gets sealed up when things expand lader on? A quick look shows nothing is obviously disconnected or degraded. Does anyone have any good advice at traking a leak? I've never really tried to track a leak down although I've had nightmares of doing so. TIA!
The general procedure is to spray O2-sensor-safe carburetor cleaner around all the intake system seals, hoses, etc., while the engine is running. If you spray a spot and the engine speed changes, you've found a leak.
