    Default steam clean leather?

I was told by someone that steam cleaning leather is the way to go. Supposedly gets it incredibly clean and makes it supple. I'm very dubious of this. Does anyone have any experience doing this?

No... will wipe out leather oil and make it worse. Just try that on your old leather belt and you will see.

    Default that makes sense...

but I wonder if after deep cleaning to such a degree that the oils have been removed, wouldn't then replacing those oils with a conditioner yield nice results?

Thats clearly the right way to do things.
I guess I was just hoping for a quick, cheap solution.
