Difference between M20 & M30 intake manifolds?

Does anyone know the difference between an M20 and an M30 intake manifold? I wonder if it'd be possible to mod one of these to fit an M30. It seems hard to get el-cheap-o M30 manifolds, TCD's are near $600. Whereas one of these can be had for $150;



Of couse you get what you pay for. I bet Tod's are way better. I'd still like to know the difference in mounting geometry though.

Not sure about the differences in M20/M30 intakes- I *think* the port spacing is different though. But that manifold in the pic you posted is not an M20 manifold- the 4 bolts per port make me think it's an M50/S50 type manifold......

Got details on that $150 M20 manifold you mentioned??

thats a m50 exhaust manifold which is nothing like a m20 which is nothing like a m30

You'd have a heck of a time using that on the intake of any BMW engine, that's for sure.

Are you asking about exhaust manifolds for a turbo application?

I meant to ask:
How hard would it be to mod an M20 or M50 exhaust manifold like that one to fit on an M30!!!

I don't know about the port spacings, sizes or mounting holes... can't find any specs on them at all.

They are all over eBay Bret. I reckon they are rough as but its very costly for me to ship anything from the US. If these POS's are out of SEAsia it might be feasible for my first pass at a turbo setup.

So the answer to your question, is a very probable 'No'.
