Have any body here tried the Tufoil oil additive on BMW engines and if so, what is the experiences?

Why not? Many of us are using additives in other areas such as vitamin additives and alcohol in soda. Why not boost the performance of engine oil by adding some (Tufoil) additive?Originally Posted by 632 Regal

I am curious about this Tufoil and want to hear if some of you have experiences with it.
In the past thirty or so years of working on engines and talking with other folks who do so, I've never seen or heard anything good about oil additives, especially those that contain PTFE (aka Teflon). See http://www.carbibles.com/snakeoil.html
The only exception to that is some anectdotal claims for the usefulness of Marvel Mystery Oil in freeing sticky lifters and the like, but like all anectdotal claims, it doesn't mean anything unless subject to properly controlled and conducted scientific tests.

I have to admit that I am a little sceptic my self. But after reading about this Tufoil at the producer’s home page (http://www.tufoil.com/ ) I got curious. This company also make industrial products so I don’t think they are just a “snake oil producer”.Originally Posted by DaveVoorhis

I'll sooner believe a politician's promises than trust a manufacturer's claims on its Web page, and the fact that they "also make industrial products" is about the weakest pitch I've ever heard. There's every bit as much industrial crap out there as consumer crap.

Tufoil = BAD!!!
in car engines anyway.
it does lower the "operating friction" of the engine to deliver about 1HP extra, but at the cost of massive wear.
PTFE is oil shedding, and that is the exact opposite of what you want mixed with your oil. also the particles lower flow through the oil filter... thats bad.
