'95 525i with squeaky clutch pedal

Have a '95 525i, 105k miles. The clutch pedal is squeaking a little both during depression and release, however the squeak on depression is at the bottom of the stroke whereas the squeak on release is at the top or end of the release. Any ideas?

I had a squeeky accelerator pedal then I attacked the joints on the floor and above the pedal with WD-40 or similar penetrating oil. would be worth the effort to go and give the pivot of the pedal a squirt you should be able to see it once you remove the cover that is above the pedals.
I've never squeaked since.
