Default Battery recommendations for 1992 525i

The battery in my 525i is kaput. It won't hold a charge. Not all auto parts places carry one for BMWs however I got a price from NAPA for $102. Also, PEP Boys said that the car originally came with a BOSCH battery which they charge $125. However that has to ordered from their New York warehouse. Any suggestions on a good battery and price? I would appreciate your suggestions.

Autozone 49DL $70 and should be in stock at every single one.

If autozone is out of the question for some reason.

I'd just pull the dead one, bring it to a retailer, line it up with others on the shelf to get the size/terminals/Amperage right. If yours is mounted under the hood, you probably have a range of dimensions that will fit (ie: length of batt. mount acccomodates a range of sizes). Should be able to do much better than $100.

    Good luck with it,

    Dave

Interstate battery is also an option, if there's one in your area. Should be competitive with the Auto Zone battery.

Maybe the Interstate is my best option. The old one lasted long enough.

"group 58" is a trade size that fits the E34. Wal mart sells 'em for $50
