Default guage cluster dies when brake pedal pressed

when i press my brake pedal even slightly my guage cluster dies except for the turn signal, as soon as i let off its like i started the car again, the seat belt light comes on and the oil service light comes on, this repeats itself over and over in traffic, also my obc stopped working except for the clock, any ideas what these have in common?, thanks 90 525ia

do your brake lights work? Just a guess, but it might have something to do with the brake light switch (don't see how else touching the brake pedal could do it)

Go to my website below, there is a link to Gale's website, he has repaired the switch and you can see where it is, pics are also there on his site.
