    Default I got my 535i started but its running bad

    I think the timing is off. The engine starts and and it won't really idle. It revs up to about 3000rpm then dies. I check all the hoses and I don't see any obvious problems. I assume its the timing. I adjusted the block to tdc and then head to the have the valves closed on the #1 cylinder. help...

    Check the TPS? throttle position sensor.

    What should I look for with the tps? should I test with a volt meter?

    yes... here's the instructions (sorry.. throttle position switch)

    -The ICV might be bad
    -the voltage could be off
    -TPS switch as mentioned above.

    Theres one more thing it could be, but I forget what it is.
