E34 V8 Front Subframe

Hi there,

I have had a 1988 5 speed manual 530 (six) for the last five years and love it. But, I've always had a hankering to put a later 4 litre V8 in it. My machanical shop reckons the easiest way of doing this is to buy a donor car (cheapest way is a complete car out of Japan) and completely swap the front subframe with V8 attached. My question is- does anyone out there know whether BMW were still using the same subframe say in 1994/93 that they started off with in 1988. Also, what other hidden problems might be found doing this conversion? Thanks a lot guys.
