Low fuel light coming on when you turn ignition on is normal-as long as it goes out again. I'd guess its either a duff gauge or sender unit. Sender units usually give 'full' reading when they are grounded out. Worked for a car rental company years ago and somebody tried that with a Jag with twin tanks-it was empty! Dont take my word for it-check wiring diagram. I dont want to read you caused a spark and blew yourself up on my say-so!
