    Default Fuel cap door removal

I want to remove the fuel cap on the car to get some colour matched paint, however I had to stop myself fiddling with it as i was afraid i would break it.
Can someone describe to me the steps to remove it please ?

Let's be clear. It's the hinge that breaks, not the door. And yes get a new hinge anyway. As I am finding, the dealer part is probably the way to go. I just had the missus pick one up for $25. The MTC aftermarket hinge didn't fit right, so the BMW part will be installed tonight and the aftermarket hinge will be returned.

terrible shame that you have to end up breaking it to get it off, I think i will just give them the front grill .

    Update

The factory part fits perfect. Snaps right in. After looking at it, the clips on the aftermarket part are not the same and just don't hold to the car. I was afraid to lose the door and have to replace it. Definitely not worth the $15 difference.
