The DME triggers the injectors with a ground signal I believe. 12 volts is always present on the r/w and the dme grounds the other to pulse the injector. so, no voltage should be at that wire.
I have an intermittent missing problem in the #1 cyc. I pulled up the fuel rail to verify that the #1 inj. is not working. I am gettting 12 volts on the red/wt wire but nothing on the tan/wt wire. Wires have continuenty from inj to dem, so I suspect the Dme. I have 0-261-200-405 do have to have a -405 or will somthing else work?
Thanks,
Bud

"The gas pedal wouldn't go to the floor if it weren't meant to be there"
I have the EXACT problem in my 1991 525i ( M50) and I took the long way to fixing it.
I have replaced the coils, injectors (Bosch III 19lb 4 pintle),crank sensor, plugs, O2 sensor, vac. lines, gaskets....pretty much every thing you could imagine...... I did all of that because I so badley didnt want it to be my DME. It's basically the only thing that I have not done. Now I have to spend that much more after the fact for a DME that I cannot F'ing find.
Please help us locate this # DME, its green label BTW.
Sorry just saw the post date.......
