Remove the four torx screws from the back of the wheel and the airbag pops off, the connector is beneath it.
I am trying (as we speak) to remove my airbag/steering wheel to replace some insturment bulbs. Disconnected battery, let capacitors drain.
However, the airbag plugs look different than shown in the illustriations I have seen from either bill R or Winfield. My car is built 1/95 with ews II security.
I see an orange round/ribbed plug with yellow striped wires going ito it. It is connected to what appears to be a black round plug.
There does not seem to be an obvious way to disconnect the air bag. There is a flat plug 4 wires (brown blue, white and red) feeding toward the air bag assembly. It also seems hard to disconnect.
Not sure what to do. I am afarid of setting the airbag off even with power off.

"The gas pedal wouldn't go to the floor if it weren't meant to be there"
Thanks, Got the connector loose under the steering column. Slid it out of a clip and then seperated it. Apppears to be two torx screws on the back of the wheel. Too tight for a trox driver. Socket torx too shallow as mounting hole too deep. I will figure it out.
