Scrap metal yard would pay for that aluminum arm.
Replaced my 150K miles alu lower control arms with lemforder steel ones....
Guess the alumin ones were stock, don't know.
Hate to toss them.... what can I do? Just recycle I guess......

Those were stock on the M5 and possibly the M-sport models. I don't think they came stock on a 525iA, my guess would be is those had far less than 150k on them. I recently replaced my arms with aluminum ones.
The al ones last as well as the steels. ONly worth tossing them when the joints go bad- the lower bushings last very well. This means you can expect 130000 miles/180,000km or 15 years out of them on medium-bad metro roads I reckon- perhaps much more on good tarmac...
Oh, and they might come stock on all M50 and M60-powered cars as well as M5.

I cut the ball joint off with an angle grinder and knock out the bushing, then put a rope loop through the hole and keep it under my seat in case I have to tune up another driver.
Vee ave vays of dealing vid your kind...........
Knock out the bushing? For a kinder, gentler tune up?
