Default Heeeeellllp, steeringwheel nut is stuck!

Like the header says, the steering wheel lugnut is like welded in.. I canīt get it to release no matter how hard I try and thats VERY hard.

My current steering wheel is starting to look worn/dull and Iīve got a near perfect new one that Iīd like to use.. But that friggin lugnut is giving me hell!

Have you tried having someone hold the steering wheel while to try to get the nut off?

Not to point out the obvious but are you using a breaker bar?

    er....

    guys...

lock the steering wheel - without the key in....then use breaker bar and it will SURELY get the nut to loosen. then don't forget to give contact, and pull the wheel out.

That will also ruin your steering lock.

That'll work great if you only want to remove the nut but maybe not ever get the steering wheel off. Is that how you broke the "shift" keys on your Dell?

    Hi,

I would suggest you don't use a breaker bar, but an impact wrench. If like me you don't have a handy air supply you can get an electric one off ebay like this:

They can supply upto 250 lb/feet and work off of 12v. It can undo wheel nuts from fully torqued with the front wheel in the air .

Just a thought - is it a left hand thread ?
