Default Engine Bay Light hook up

When I swapped my hood for a wide style hood it came with a light, my question is where can I find a hot wire to connect it to? besides the positive terminal on the other side of the engine bay...

    thanks.

works when the lights are on, so tap into a lighting circuit wire? like a sidemarker wire?

No, it works when the hood is open regardless of the lights on the car like the trunk lights, so I need a 12v constant.

Use the sensor near the fuse box as a switch to turn it on so it only goes on when you open the hood

no, it only comes on when the lights are on... at least that is the way they WERE when those were standard (535 for example).

IF ut works the way you are stating there will be TWO wires... one for 12+ and one to go to the hood switch.

My guess is when you test the ground side of the bulb, it will have a constant ground thru chassis.

Yeah, I would only want that hood light to come on when the parking light is on... otherwise, you will drain your battery just by working on your engine... in daytime. Hood switch is necessary to stop the light from lighting up when hood is shut.

if the lights are on, then you will either drain the battery anyway ( well after about 4-5 hours or more), or you are going to start it soon.

anyway pics will be helpful... I can't wait until I can find one in a yard to add to my 92

As you can see, Attack´s right.. It goes thru the main light switch!
