Default Anyone using the Jb Racing m30 spin on oil filter adapter?

Saw this on their site :

Was curious if anyone here has used the spin on filter adapter. Its cheaper than the $300 new canister.

I've been looking for something like this for a while. Bruno gave up doing his Billet adapters. This is not cheap... perhaps we could talk JB racing into a group buy? I'm in if they were under $100...

I had one on a 1972 bavaria. It worked great and much easier than canister type the car had originally. I used a HP2 filter, I did go cheaper once and used a frame that would fit but wasnt an HP i almost blew the rubber seal out of the filter.

Considering on OEM replacement canister is $300, even at the regular price shown its still a deal. I wish there were more pictuers, would like to see how it looks/works on later m30 motors. I sent the company an email, got a reply that they are not going to be back unti 10/27.

Not going to fly on the e34 layout. Only those earlier m30 motors with the bottom inserting filter.

Do you mean that the M30B35 won't fit it? What do you mean by early motors- does this include the M30B34, M30B28? I thought they had the same oil connection.

If so, can u ask JB to consider making a modified version to suit the later ones? There would be a good market given the leaky valves that few M30 owners would like the thought of. Cheers, Nick

Anything with the upright canister - basically the B35 motors.

I doubt that anyone would bother with it - as the market for m30 aftermarket stuff to fit our cars is so small. The trick is either get a used one from a 91 and later car or buy a new one from the dealer.

This conversation has come up on several sites and I'm working on a solution to fit the B34 and B35 motors. I have something very similar to Bruno's adapter plate which will come with a Trans-Dapt 1122 relocation kit. This would work for the B35 motors. At this point you're looking at a little more than the JB racing adapter but you will have everything minus the oil filter itself. The quote I gave over on Mye28 was $95 for the block by itself and $140 for the whole kit which has since changed to the Trans-Dapt units which are much better quality than my first choice. Pm or email me if you're interested and I'll see if they are worth making.
