"Doing Ontario Safety inspection and need to replace my rear self levelling shock
Anyone has a spare 93 740iL driver rear side left self levelling shocks in the Toronto area going for cheap.
It is kind of hard dilemma paying 700$ for a new shock when I know that the car can only fetch about 1K-2K.
Everything else is working and sure hate to have to scrape it. Planning to give it to my brother but it cannot happen without getting a safety inspection certificate for the tranfer. The emissions test was easy to pass.
Let me know. Thanks 1993 740iL Jeff Chia"

The LAD shock from an e34 Touring is the same, so that will do.

Realoem gives different part #'s for E32 & E34 LAD shocks. #37121134283 is the current part # for E32 left rear LAD shock. But when I put that # in the search at Tischer BMW's site it lists it as applicable to both E32 & E34.
Anyways, after checking the usual suspects for good parts prices (Tischer/BMA/Pelican/Autohaus) BMA wins out at just under $500.

Thanks, I will inform him about the BMA price, but he wants to get a used one in first place, as he wants to try to repair the old one and keep the other one for the case that the repair try fails.
Presently the shock looks like this
