Check bulb resistance. Leave that bulb disconnected and see if that pops the fuse too.
hi
i just dont know what to do my number 10 fuse keeps poping (left lowbeam).the wiring is fine.it only happens when i switch the headlights on
i open the lkm box and found there was a broke circuit i soldered it and put it back with a new 7.5 fuse switch the headlights on and it poped again.but why only the the no. 10 fuse keep blowing.
help needed
thanks
Check bulb resistance. Leave that bulb disconnected and see if that pops the fuse too.
That fuse is exclusively for that headlight and downstream of the LKM so faults there won't burn out the fuse.
If you check the load side of the fuse socket I'm sure you'll find continuity(short) to ground.
Reinspect your wiring and have a look at the bulb & socket for twisted/shorted terminals or corrosion.
"The gas pedal wouldn't go to the floor if it weren't meant to be there"
okay i check that out and put a new bulb at the same time i also replaced the alternator regulator the output voltage is now 14.00 while car is idealing is that right
i found the problem why the fuse was poping the solder from the wires inside of the black cap on the back of the headlight was melted and it was touching the positive wire causing a short
that fault is quite often, I even found one wire completely lose there.
Looks like on some built years the wires inside that black cap were thinner, I have seen different diameters of wires there.
Replaced them all again thicker wire, a bit difficult to solder in new wires due to limited space inside the cap.
Any pics?
