lower ones are easy to replace. And they also are not that important compared to the upper ones. For the upper ones I would only use Lemfoerder or Meyle HD.
On the other hand, if you drive only 10 k miles per year, even the no names could do.
Anyway, funny brand name: Part Brand: Aftermarket

I am yet to see bad alluminium ones. There are some made in Taiwan that we can get here in Oz for the same price as u guys in the US enjoy (that's rare, even with the Aussie:US dollar at 1:1 levels). Agree with Erich, no need to buy the OEM $300 Lemfoerder/Meyles with these around. Different story for the uppers tho.

Now I think these fit e28 as well... ? or is that just the uppers?

cool beans, I'll test these out. One of the grease boots are torn and it looks all nasty inside so I'll swap them out. The uppers really take a load but still the lemforders are holding strong with the M5 bushings.

"still the lemforders are holding strong with the M5 bushings."

Need to say more? You know what works. But, if you decide to do it, keep us posted on how it comes out in the long run.

I'd go for the Grotons, given a choice between the two. They've had to express some contrition online over the quality of their products and promised to reform. Not that they're going to give you Lemfoerder quality, but as Shogun said, the lower arms aren't stressed that much.

I've actually got a set of the FCP aluminum control arms on an '83 E24. They haven't seen a lot of miles, but they're in decent shape after 5+ years.

FCP (fvcking crappy parts)... I remember that like yesterday. Replaced 5 thrust arms before giving it up for the Lemforders. I did get mighty quick changing them though :-) The main issue was them crippled up bushings, the first pair I got from them had 2 completely different bushings, I should have known. At least these lower arms have a solid rubber bushing, only hope the balljoint ends hold out. Looks like they have some digital part number too, has to be some quality control going on.

I've used these partiicular FCP arms to great effect. easily done 20,000km with no failure. They had clear boots. Other FCP stuff I've bought has gone awfully wrong. The damned FCP branded swaybar links had boots that perished just sitting on my shelf... within 3 months!
