I'm no master, but if you're talking about the rectangular blue one, then you pull outwards on the black bit in the center of it first. It should slide outwards about 5mm. After that the blue section will disconnect fairly easily.
I'm trying to replace the climate control in my E34. I have the dual zone version, and have a good working spare to put in as the one in the car seems to be stuck on heat, and the passenger side control doesn't work at all.
I'm trying to remove the plug behind the left side heat controller, the one with the 15 wires. I cannot get the thing to pull out, and can't for the life of me figure out how it does pull out.
Any suggestions from the masters?
Thanks.

OK. I've been pulling on that black inner part for hours and it just won't budge. Was wondering if there is a special trick to it somehow?

I just slide a flat blade screwdriver under the black bit and lever it up
OK. I tried that, but, was probably being to gentle with it. I'll give it another go.
