172.7 miles 6.566 gallons = 26.30 MPG
70-85 MPH and a few stops and traffic jams so not so bad.
I really want to set the cams correct instead of my 6 degree advance which actually retarded either the intake or exhaust cams.
Still I'll take it.

I have driven my E34 3.0 M60 auto for 200.000+ km now spread over 7 years. 80% of this is motorway traffic and 20% countryside/city. Reason for this is that I used the car alot for work instead of a company car and was well compensated.
I gas up only with octane 98 or 100. This is premium fuel in Europe.
The trip computer says 9.3l/100km which translates to 25.30 mpg US. This is about right. Everytime I gas up around 60 - 70 liters my trip counter reads well over 600 or 700 meaning I am clearly over the 10/100l mark.
Keep in mind that motorway driving in the EU (specifically in the Netherlands) is done at 130km/h or higher. We do not drive as slow as in the US. Would I do a constant 100 km/h I would get a better mpg.
The car has almost 470.000km on the clock but it still runs great, consumes no oil, pulls well and does this more than acceptable mileage.
