Those border patrol guys are certainly on edge. When we crossed over at the Sweetwater, MT, border earlier this year, the officer standing at the back of our car asked me to pop the trunk open for him. As I was getting out to do so, he yelled STAY IN THE CAR!!! and put his hand on his gun. So I yelled PUSH THE BUTTON ON THE TRUNK! This society of fear is just getting worse every day.

19,000 illegals crossed over from Mexico in McAllen, TX that weren't from Mexico, and have overcome the ability of the INS, and thus were held a few hours and then released...whereabouts unknown.
They did however find a South African woman who had four pages torn from her passport busted acting suspiciously in the McAllen airport. She flew to London, then Mexico, then walked across the border, then got busted by border patrol...yep she's a terrorist on the Homeland Security list.
so much for profiling, luck is all we have to work with.
