A few days ago I installed an EAT chip for an E34 535iA. RHD aussie, DME version: 0 261 200 179.
This is how I described it to Mark
"The car has more low down torque, the idle is low (about 600 rpm) but less rough then before. Part throttle response is better, same exhaust note as before, no pinging, overall more grunt, greatly improved throttle response.
Get this though, the chip I was using before I upgraded was by powerchip. I was surprised to see it on the board after I lifted up the chip clip."
The car runs better, paid US$200. Powerchip's sell for AUD$800 for the e34. The whole process took about 30 mins.
The powerchip does seem poor in comparison.
