    Default Tire noise

I've had my E34 for 2 years and just now I start to notice a noise every time I drive. I had a similar problem with an old celica and I found out that the rear tires were the same as the front ones. What does a E34 is supposed to have? 16's 17's front/rear, the same? please advice.

Default might want to do an inspection on your

center bearings and rear end just incase something is starting to get worn before it gets worse.

what would be your course of action. I have a feeling I need a wheel bearing (on the right side of the car) because the noise is evident when I turn to the left (thus loading the right) and goes away when I turn to the right. what is the center bearing you speak of? I don't think my problem is the rear end though. how would you attack the problem?
    TIA

Default is it a running/grinding sort of sound?

and you suspect the front wheel bearing, maybe have someone ride with you and stick their head out the window to help isolate the sound. Thats what I would do before i went and started replacing parts.

yeah, it's a wheel bearing. I'm about ready to order one. thought it was my old $hitty tires. I replaced them and it's still there. what are the center bearings you speak of?

Center bearings are a driveshaft part, not sure the sound would change like you're experiencing: noise there when turning left, not there when turning right.
