    Default M50tu carbon clean/decarbon - needed?

I see several posts and archive references to individuals who need to decarbon thier engines as they ping, and/or run poorly.

Fortunatly mine does not seem to need it. Never had a ping. I try to use Chevron 93 octane gas with techron and run a bottle of techron through the tank every 3,000 miles or so. My daily commute may help, about 20 miles each way of rural highway at 55-75 mph. Plugs have about 20,000 miles and I can get 28-30 mpg at 65 mph. Bottom line is, I do not think I need to do anything regarding decarboning.

That said, is this something I should/need to do on my 95 525iaTU with 102,000 miles? If so, what is the best approach. TIA
    Thanks,

Default I wouldn't waste the time and effort to use some of these so called

decarbonizers that others are using. The potential is there for too much harm to the engine. I would just buy a can of the BG products or one of the techron products that are for combustion chamber deposits and add to the gas tank and do it gradually this way

Default No, bg44k is intended primarily as a fuel injector cleaner , this is the

bg product you'll want to use for combustion chamber deposits or you can use a techron product for the same thing. If you read the labels on the various techron products you'll see that some are intended for cleaing injectors and others are for combustion chamber and valve deposits.
